Overview
Awesome Ambitions is a growing, thriving, 501(cv)3, college and career readiness program for teenage girls that has been in action since 1997, more than 25 years, in the greater Kanas City area. We’re offering incredible opportunities for Girls of Color to discover their purpose, explore career opportunities, realize the value of standing up for themselves and others and create a plan for their future success. We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented, driven strategist, excellent communicator, and administrative expert, who can take Awesome Ambitions to a higher level of excellence in organization, programming, and fundraising, that will lead to the success for our teenage girls and our Kansas City area community. Job Description
The Executive Director would reside in the greater Kansas City metro and would be responsible with the Executive Board for the development and implementation of the Awesome Ambitions mission of providing programs and services to help empower, educate, and equip Girls of Color in 8 th through 12 th grade, to know their value and develop a plan for future success in wellness, education, careers, social justice, and community engagement.
The Executive Director will be a Kansas City area-based employee of Awesome Ambitions who reports to the Executive Board of Awesome Ambitions which includes the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer.

Additionally, this position is responsible to provide leadership support to the board for fundraising, budget
management, and oversight of the fiscal health and governance of the organization including record-keeping. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, this position is responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic plan, developing donor relationships, and being an active part of programming, and marketing/communications.
Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for all program strategy, compliance, and quality assurance.

Annually creates a strategic organizational plan, overall budget, and a year-end report

Coordinates and leads quarterly and annual budget reviews.

Responsible for making sure the organization is in compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation.

Develops an actionable budget-plan for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow.
Preferred Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Management

Four years previous leadership experience with a non-profit organization
-
Strategic Planning and Project Management experience
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending, and moving

Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds

May be exposed to infectious diseases

Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others

Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
Time Commitment and Compensation
-
This is a part-time position for a Kansas City based employee.

Annual Salary is between $30,000 and $35,000. It does not include benefits.
